Job Overview:The Piping Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of Piping and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Piping problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Piping Engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Perform FEED, Studies, and detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on more complex and demanding engineering tasksApply knowledge and skills to complete varied assignmentsPrepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses, including design reports and proceduresPrioritize and organize own work to meet deadlinesFocus on completing work within budgetsClearly communicate and explain information in straightforward engineering activitiesFocus on health and safety policies and proceduresGain familiarity with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements, including identifying concerns as early as practicableInitiate interface with other disciplines to obtain input for discipline designsPrepare design calculations as requiredFamiliar with P&ID Line List, Equipment List, Layout, Piping Specifications, and design basisPerform engineering checks prepared by others within the disciplinePerform design verification through single discipline check and assist with inter-discipline checks (IDC)Provide engineering support as requiredAssist in the preparation of subcontract documentsPrepare a list of Special Piping Items, Piping and Valves specification, and datasheetsReview P&IDs with reference to Piping Material and Valve specificationProvide input for Linelist, including NDEPerform Pipe Stress Analysis and prepare reportsProvide critical pipe support loads to Civil/StructuralPerform design calculations such as pipe wall thickness, reinforcement pad, trunnion support, etcPrepare Material Requisitions, Technical queries, Tech Bid Evaluations, and Purchase Requisitions for Engineered Piping EquipmentReview vendor dataReview Piping MTO with respect to Material RequisitionProvide input to the Piping SubcontractAlert the team of any deviation from the Scope of work or a need for a change order

Essential Qualifications and Education:Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering3-8 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail designFamiliar with the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicableKnowledge of many basic design techniques and analysis methodsPreferably Registered Engineer in Training (ElT) or member of professional engineering society as applicableEager to learnWorking knowledge of English, both oral and writtenHSE, TQM, and cost-consciousShow flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to: The reassignment to other departments, construction sites, and fabrication yards The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads (also other projects) when possible/desirable The managing/learning of future current working methods and software applicationsAccredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regionsFamiliar with the use of codes and standards#LI-SK1
