Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our NoSQL database environments, primarily Cassandra and MongoDB. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distributed systems, performance tuning, and data modeling, with a proactive approach to database reliability and scalability. Key Responsibilities: Cassandra Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Cassandra clusters in production environments. Manage high-volume read/write operations with horizontal scalability. Configure replication, consistency levels, and monitor cluster health. Implement backup and recovery strategies. Optimize performance through compaction tuning, query analysis, and capacity planning. MongoDB Administration: Deploy and manage MongoDB instances, including replica sets and sharded clusters. Design and implement scalable NoSQL schema models. Monitor performance and tune queries using MongoDB tools. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. Perform backups and restores using Ops Manager or native tools. General DBA Duties: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and high-availability strategies. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams for schema design and integration. Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.). Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Certifications in MongoDB, Cassandra, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) are a plus. Strong understanding of distributed systems and NoSQL principles. Experience with Linux/Unix environments. Proficiency in scripting (Python, Shell, Perl). Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack. Preferred Skills: Experience with cloud-native database deployments. Knowledge of other databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
