Position Overview :

As a Senior Manager - New Product Development you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of a product from concept through commercialization. This includes recipe formulation, cross-functional working, product innovation keeping the customer needs at the heart of all products.


Key Responsibilities :-


Product Strategy and Vision:

  • Lead the development of innovative good tasting, healthy products that align with consumer trends and company goals in health, sustainability, and wellness.
  • Ensure a balance between market needs and nutritional benefits
  • Drive the ideation, formulation, and refinement of healthy and tasty food products that use no maida, no sugar, no palm oil and no preservatives.
  • Identify the right contract manufacturer for a product and work closely with them from inception to launch

Cross-functional Collaboration :

  • Work with cross-functional teams including Chiefs of Staff, Operations (Procurement and Production), Quality, Growth and Marketing,
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to define consumer needs and current food trends.

Ingredient Sourcing and Supply Chain Management:

  • Work closely with the procurement team to identify ingredient suppliers/vendors that meet the standards for our products.
  • Ensure that the ingredients used in product formulations meet both nutritional and regulatory standards, focusing on transparency and traceability.

Recipe Formulation & Development :

  • Lead ideation, recipe development, prototyping, and the commercialization process.
  • Make data-driven decisions and oversee product feasibility assessments, ensuring that it meets quality standards

Keeping the Customer at the heart of the operation :

  • Keep up with the market trends, consumer preferences, and emerging dietary needs (e.g., plant-based, clean labels, etc.) to drive new product innovation for the company.
  • Lead consumer testing, taste panels, and feedback loops to optimize products before launch, ensuring alignment with market expectations and healthy principles.

Project Management and Product Launch:

  • Oversee the end-to-end project management of new healthy products, ensuring they are developed, tested, and launched on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage product timelines, ensuring that deadlines are met and product quality is maintained throughout development.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g. operations, marketing, sales) to ensure smooth product launches.
  • Visit the facilities during 1st production and testing phase


Experience & Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in Food Sci or Food tech
  • Innovation mindset
  • Broad knowledge of ingredients - natural, clean label
  • Minimum of 10 years in the Food industry
  • Successful product launches - past and present
  • Experience in one or more product categories: Extruded products, Baked goods, Snacks
  • Managed end to end projects
  • Supervised a team
  • Experience in Quality would be a plus
  • Vendor outreach for projects
  • Experienced in working with contract manufacturers
  • Plant experience would also be a plus
