Legal Officer – Corporate, Litigation & IP Location: For Pune Based Candidates Only. Role Type: Full-Time | On-site (Back Office | Occasional Proceedings Support). About the Role SVS Aqua Technologies LLP is looking for an experienced Senior Legal Officer with strong capabilities in corporate litigation, arbitration, intellectual property matters, and commercial documentation. This role requires a lawyer with approximately 8–12 years of experience , capable of independently handling complex legal work while coordinating with senior counsels on key matters. This is not a remote or hybrid role – we require someone based in Pune or willing to relocate immediately. Key Responsibilities Corporate Litigation & Arbitration (Senior-Level Responsibility) Lead preparation of ongoing arbitration and corporate litigation matters. Provide strategic inputs to senior counsels based on case facts and business impact. Attend hearings and coordinate with external counsels, law firms, and regulators. Draft pleadings, responses, and case summaries with minimal supervision. Drafting, Vetting & Advisory Independently draft and vet high-quality legal documents including: Commercial contracts Distribution agreements NDAs Notices and replies Affidavits and representations Provide clear, business-oriented legal opinions to management. Intellectual Property Management Handle patent and copyright issues including filings, oppositions, infringement strategy, and coordination with IP attorneys. Ensure timely renewals and maintain the company’s IP portfolio accurately. Compliance & Governance Ensure adherence to applicable statutory, regulatory, and industry compliances. Develop internal checklists, documentation standards, and compliance frameworks. Advise management on risk mitigation, contract structuring, and policy formation. Coordination & Cross-Functional Support Work closely with senior management, external counsels, technical teams, and consultants. Consolidate facts, data, and evidence required for cases or regulatory submissions. Act as the central legal point-of-contact within the company. Desired Candidate Profile Law degree (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution. 8–12 years of strong experience across litigation, arbitration, IP, and corporate contracts. Ability to independently draft, vet, and interpret complex documents. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously. Pune-based candidates strongly preferred (or those willing to relocate immediately). Prior work with manufacturing, technology, chemical, or engineering companies is a plus.
