We are seeking a motivated and passionate

Psychology Intern

to join our team for a 4-month internship. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in the field of psychology and apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting.

Project -Title

- Conceptualization, Planning and end to end Execution of Mpower Summit

Problem Statement:India is facing a major mental health burden with more than 197 million citizens suffering from some kind of mental disorder, accounting for ~15% of the global mental health burden and a high suicide rate. Yet, India is very nascent in its journey of Mental Health and Wellbeing. The treatment gap ranges from 28% to 83%, being the highest at 85.2% for common mental disorders. Whereas most countries spend 5-18% of their GDP on mental healthcare, India spends only 0.05%.

While these statistics are alarming, yet there exists a silver lining. India is witnessing a welcome influx of voices advocating for the de-stigmatization of mental health. These voices of impassioned individuals, corporates, the judiciary, academia, foundations and NGOs, are working in their respective domains & micro-markets to improve the status quo. While these independent efforts are creating impact in localized environments, yet they aren’t enough to achieve scalable outcomes.

Mpower’s endeavor is to establish a common and accessible platform, which will be launched as an annual Summit for all stakeholders to bring in their multi-disciplinary perspectives and unify their voices to create significant movement.Project Objective :Three objectives -(1) Create a strategy to establish Mpower among the top 3 organizations working and creating an impact in the Mental Health Space.(2) Ideate and conceptualize (ground up) the full vision & clear objectives around establishing an IP for Mpower in form of an annual Summit. Create an action plan for the next 3 years for the team to follow for executing the annual Summits.(3) Execution of the 1st Annual Summit in Feb 2025

Specific Project Goals:(1) As part of the Core team (4-5 members), support the secondary research and expert reach-outs to develop a differentiated IP for Mpower in Mental Health.(2) Support & manage the external marketing & event management agencies for seamless execution of the Summit.(3) Support in planning and budgeting of the event and support in leading sponsorship discussions for the Summit.

Business Impact of Project:Output - (1) A differentiated IP owned by Mpower, (2) Clear strategy, with directives for execution of the strategy to help Mpower get the recognition of being among top 3 organizations working the Mental Health Space in India

Anticipated Functional Learnings:(1) Understanding of the Mental Health space and how organizations are working towards being financially self-sufficient to drive their operations(2) Developing a new strategy & 3-year action plan ground up; understanding of groundwork, research and modeling that go into building a strategy(3) Preparing & driving sponsorship / fund raising discussions to create a win-win scenario for all stakeholders from an IP>

Anticipated Behavioral Learnings:(1) Driving Execution through efficient planning and effective process management(2) Stakeholder management (both internal and external)(3) Sharpening presentation skills & presence in high stake discussions; through the chance of presenting to promoters & senior leadership
