Role: Sourcing Engineer – New Part Development Job Type: Full-time, On-site Location: Bengaluru, India Experience: 3–6 years Education: B. E./B. Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Role Overview We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Sourcing Engineer – New Part Development to join our growing team. The role involves end-to-end sourcing of new components , supplier evaluation, development, and ensuring high-quality standards while supporting our indigenisation and sustainability goals. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, project management, and quality to deliver reliable suppliers and cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities Supplier Sourcing & Development Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for Machining, Casting, Sheet Metal, Forging, Extrusion, and Special Purpose Machining . Drive supplier qualification, capability assessment, and technical evaluations. Develop and strengthen a sustainable supplier ecosystem aligned with Venttup’s vision of indigenisation. Quality & Process Management Ensure supplier adherence to quality standards including PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) , FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) , and other NPD processes. Collaborate with suppliers to improve manufacturing capabilities, process control, and cost efficiency. Monitor and audit supplier performance with respect to quality, delivery, and compliance. Procurement & Cost Optimization Negotiate with suppliers on cost, lead time, and commercial terms. Manage procurement transactions, supplier contracts, and ensure timely deliveries. Implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality. Cross-functional Collaboration Work with design and engineering teams during the new part development cycle . Support project management in tracking part development timelines and milestones. Ensure supplier readiness for scale-up from prototypes to mass production. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Experience: 3–6 years in B2 B manufacturing sourcing and new part development. Industry Expertise: Hands-on experience in Machining, Casting, Sheet Metal, Forging, Extrusion, or Special Purpose Machining . Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with PPAP, FMEA, APQP, and NPD processes . Strong understanding of Supplier Quality Management, Procurement processes, and Supply Chain Management . Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills . Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously. Preference for candidates from manufacturing/engineering industries .
