Team Lead AI/RPA Center of Excellence

Position: Team Lead AI/RPA Center of Excellence (CoE)Location: AIND Shared Service Centre (SSC), PuneFunction: Automation & Digital Transformation AI/RPA (CoE)Reports To: AIND SSC Manager, PuneMatrix Reporting To: Head ERP, EDI & Infrastructure ServicesJob Purpose:The Team Lead AI/RPA (CoE) is responsible for establishing, managing, and developing the AI/RPA (CoE) supporting the European division. The role drives automation, digital transformation, and process optimization initiatives by leveraging AI, RPA, and modern automation tools. The position ensures governance, compliance, secure delivery, and measurable business outcomes while coordinating with European stakeholders and global IT frameworks.Key Responsibilities (Main Activities):·Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing AI/RPA team; manage capacity, budgeting, vendor interactions, and shift alignment for EU time zones.· Co-develop and maintain governance frameworks ensuring adherence to security, compliance, and standardization across automation initiatives.· Manage the end-to-end automation lifecycle including intake, assessment, design, development, deployment, monitoring, and support.· Collaborate with European stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement impactful automation and AI use cases.· Lead and manage external suppliers using structured delivery models (SOWs, SLAs, OLAs) to ensure secure, high-quality delivery.· Supervise integration of platforms such as UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, and SAP Sign Avio to enable scalable automation.· Drive continuous improvement and innovation using AI technologies to strengthen efficiency and digital capability.· Monitor KPIs, track ROI, ensure performance reporting, and communicate progress to senior leadership.· Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on emerging AI and automation trends and their business impact.Core Experience Requirements:Mandatory:· Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT, automation, or digital transformation.· Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience managing automation or technology teams.· Proven experience delivering RPA solutions at scale using UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate.· Strong understanding of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments and related integrations.· Demonstrated experience in vendor management, contracts/SOW handling, and measurable delivery outcomes.· Experience supporting compliance requirements and audit readiness processes.Optional but Valuable:· Exposure to automotive Tier-1/Tier-2 supply chains and European regulatory/business environments.· Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms.· Experience with SAP Sign Avio for process modelling or analytics.· Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma principles or process improvement methodologies.· Experience working with nearshore/offshore models and handling peak demand cycles.Functional & Technical Competencies:Mandatory:· People leadership skills including coaching, feedback, team development, and stakeholder management across cultures and time zones.· Ability to translate business needs into scalable AI/RPA solutions, workflows, and metrics.· Strong expertise in RPA platforms including UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate.· Process excellence skills including process mapping, simulation, optimization, and BPMN 2.0.· Practical experience with SAP ECC/S4HANA integrations related to automation.· Strong communication, coordination, and cross-functional leadership skills.Optional but Valuable:· Knowledge of Microsoft Power Query or related data transformation tools.· Experience with AI-driven automation, predictive analytics, or NLP/computer vision use cases.· Continuous improvement mindset with exposure to process optimization tools.· Experience in change management, workshop facilitation, and supporting matrix/global organizations.Education & Qualification:· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.· Master’s degree in Data Science, AI, or Business Administration preferred.· Certifications in RPA platforms or AI/ML frameworks.· Experience with cloud environments (Azure, DevOps) and low-code/no-code platforms.· Exposure to NLP, computer vision, or generative AI applications.Behavioral Competencies:· Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a structured and collaborative approach to work.· Strong ownership, accountability, and service orientation.· Effective communication and stakeholder engagement across global teams.· Adaptability, continuous learning mindset, and openness to emerging technologies.· Ability to work in a multicultural, cross-functional, and dynamic environment.
