Tasks and responsibilities:


  • To act as an expert within the area and support organization as thought leader in- and outside of organisation
  • Develop battery container layouts and coordinate with electrical, civil, Solar and wind experts for complete packages to meet client needs.
  • Review load profiles and simulate Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to meet project goals.
  • Thorough knowledge on the compliance standards related to C&I BESS
  • Knowledge about UPS, Inverters, Transformers selection for C&I BESS
  • Develop single-line and three-line diagrams with required electrical details for battery systems.
  • Model energy storage system performance, coordinate, obtain and integrate BMS, EMS and SCADA designs for the battery system from third party monitoring companies.
  • Develop technical specifications and scopes of work for different clients.
  • Design different types of battery enclosure type solutions like cabinet type, container type, building type storage solution.
  • Investigate design factors such as function, durability, performance, efficiency, and contractual requirements.
  • Drive BESS technical due diligence from initial screen until turnover.
  • Perform value engineering, engineering studies, prepare detailed estimates, cost analysis and as-built designs for BESS.
  • Write reports to summarize project findings.

  • B.Tech (B.E) or M.Tech. (M.E) in Engineering (energy systems, electrical engineering).
  • Min 6 years of professional working experience from the energy sector, with specialized focus on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) tasks.
  • Knowledge of different applications of battery systems like power smoothening, ancillary services, peak shifting etc., and determination of battery profile, dispatch optimization for different applications.
  • Deep understanding of Battery Energy Storage System design, chemistry selection, performance modelling, lifetime estimation simulations of batteries, degradation and augmentation schedules, visualization of business model (duty cycle).
  • Knowledge of design modelling of hybrid renewable energy systems (solar, BESS, wind).
  • Profound knowledge of the fundamental characteristics of current battery technologies and relate them to battery parameters (such as Round-Trip efficiency, Cycle Life, etc.)
  • Understanding of Bi-directional inverter operation, control, and integration with battery systems. Familiarity with DC/DC converter operation, designing or modelling power conversion devices is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing quality process of various battery technologies and the battery value chain is a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge on latest standards on design, testing and validations and other relevant standards and codes of practice.
  • Ability to work independently, and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Interested in travelling to meetings and projects in India and abroad.
  • Experience in design of power generation mix for hybrid power systems using simulation tools like Homer Pro, Homer Grid, MATLAB is a plus
