Avionics Development and Integration Engineer
with a strong background in designing, implementing, and integrating avionics systems. The candidate will play a critical role in developing firmware and hardware solutions, integrating advanced UAV subsystems, and optimizing performance for our UAV platforms, including ArduPilot-based systems.
Key Responsibilities : Avionics Development- Design and develop firmware for UAV flight controllers (e.g., ArduPilot or PX4-based systems).- Create and maintain custom software modules for UAV functionality, including payload control and navigation.- Implement robust communication protocols (MAVLink, CAN, UART, I2C) for UAV subsystems.System Integration- Integrate autopilot systems with UAV hardware components, including sensors, cameras, gimbals, and telemetry systems.- Develop and test electrical and communication interfaces for UAV platforms.- Configure and optimize UAV flight controllers for various missions and payloads.Testing & Troubleshooting- Conduct HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) simulations for avionics verification.- Test and validate firmware functionality in lab and field environments.- Diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, and system-level issues.Documentation & Standards- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including technical designs, integration procedures, and test results.- Ensure compliance with aviation safety standards and UAV regulatory requirements.Collaboration- Work closely with the hardware and software teams to deliver seamless UAV solutions.- Evaluate and implement new avionics technologies in alignment with project requirements.
Required Qualifications & skills:- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.- Minimum 2 years of experience in avionics development and integration.- Proven expertise with ArduPilot, PX4, or similar autopilot platforms.- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python and lua.- Hands-on experience with flight controllers, GPS modules, IMUs, and telemetry systems.- Familiarity with communication protocols such as MAVLink, CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C.- Proficiency in using tools like Mission Planner, QGroundControl, and UAV simulators.Preferred Skills- Experience in developing custom firmware for UAV flight controllers.- Knowledge of payload systems integration, including gimbals, cameras, and LiDAR.- Experience with PCB design and hardware testing tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
