Job Summary:We are looking for a results-driven Software Test Engineer responsible for designing, writing test cases, and running automated tests for software developed in our organization. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our web and mobile applications by implementing comprehensive testing strategies. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define test strategies, develop and execute test plans, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to design, develop, and execute effective test plans and test cases.
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and manual testers to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to automation frameworks, test plans, and test cases.
• Hands-on experience in at least one automation test suite for web and mobile app testing.
• Perform various types of testing: manual, automated, unit, integration, functional, regression, load, and security testing.
• Perform thorough API testing (manual and automated) to validate functionality, reliability, performance, and security.
• Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs using bug-tracking systems.
• Write and run database queries to validate data and support backend testing.
• Perform load and performance testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Prepare reports of test cases, test execution results, and probable causes of defects.
• Interact with clients/Project Lead/Manager to understand product requirements and provide quality assurance insights.
• Run VAPT scans to detect vulnerabilities and contribute to security testing efforts.
• Continuously improve test coverage, speed, and reliability of test suites and overall QA processes.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.
• 1-2 years of professional experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Must have demonstrable hands-on experience in automation testing, including designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and comprehensive test suites.
• Must have proven experience in automated mobile app testing (iOS and Android) using relevant frameworks and tools (e.g., Appium).
• Must have significant experience in API testing (manual and automated) using tools like Postman, Rest Assured, or similar.
• Strong hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, Cypress).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language commonly used in test automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Up-to-date knowledge of software test design, testing methodologies, and best practices (SDLC, STLC, Agile).
• Knowledge of manual & automated testing, unit testing, integration testing, functional testing, and bug-tracking systems.
• Hands-on experience in test scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of coding and database queries; proficient in writing and executing SQL queries.
• Working experience with version control tools (e.g., Git).
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test cases.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points):

• Experience with load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Experience with security testing/assessment tools and VAPT processes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.
• Knowledge of performance testing concepts.
• ISTQB or other relevant QA certifications.
