This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for professionals who have extensive hands-on experience in heat treatment processes, production operations, and the use of advanced furnaces.
• The role requires an individual with a strong technical foundation in metallurgy and heat treatment processes coupled with proven leadership abilities to manage large-scale production operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of heat treatment technologies and the ability to drive excellence in process quality, production efficiency, and team management.

Key Responsibilities
As the Sr. Manager / Manager - Heat Treatment (Production Side), you will be responsible for the following:

• Heat Treatment Operations:
• Oversee day-to-day production activities related to heat treatment processes.
• Ensure optimum utilization of furnaces and equipment while maintaining adherence to production schedules.
• Plan, execute, and monitor heat treatment operations such as carburizing, carbonitriding, induction hardening, tempering, annealing, and shot blasting.
• Furnace & Equipment Management:
• Manage various types of heat treatment furnaces such as batch, continuous, and induction furnaces.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and upkeep of equipment to avoid downtime.

Implement process improvements to increase furnace efficiency and productivity.

• Process Excellence & Special Processes:
• Drive process stability and control in special processes like carburizing, carbonitriding, and induction hardening.
• Standardize operating parameters to achieve consistent metallurgical results.
• Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
• Metallurgical Expertise:
• Utilize knowledge of metallurgy to analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations or product failures.
• Provide technical expertise in the development of new heat treatment processes.
• Quality & Compliance:
• Ensure that all production processes comply with safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
• Work in alignment with ISO/TS standards and customer-specific requirements.
• Maintain high standards of product quality, reliability, and performance.
• Team Leadership & Development:
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production engineers, supervisors, and operators.
• Drive skill development programs for team members to enhance technical competence.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety.
• Production Planning & Coordination:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
• Develop and implement production plans in line with organizational goals.
• Monitor KPIs such as throughput, efficiency, yield, and cost.
• Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
• Implement Lean Manufacturing practices, Six Sigma methodologies, and Kaizen initiatives.
• Drive innovation in heat treatment processes to reduce costs and improve product quality.
• Adopt and introduce new technologies to enhance competitiveness.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for highly motivated and skilled professionals who meet the following 10 to 20 years of progressive experience in heat treatment production, preferably in the automobile or auto component industry.

• Hands-on exposure to managing furnaces and special processes is mandatory.

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of carburizing, carbonitriding, induction hardening, shot blasting, tempering, and other heat treatment techniques.
• Expertise in metallurgy and process engineering.
• Understanding of metallurgical testing methods and laboratory practices.

Leadership Qualities

• Proven track record in managing medium to large teams in a production environment.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate teams, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure high performance.

Educational Qualification
UG: Any Graduate (Degree in Metallurgical/Mechanical Engineering preferred but not mandatory).
