  • Provides full design planning configurationdocumentation deployment and toplevel support ownership of storageinfrastructure technologies.
  • Identifiesdesign requirements and makes recommendations for capacity planningperformance optimization and future direction.
  • Designs storage solutions per business requirements.
  • This includes performing storage workloadmodeling for sizing optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Researches and compares system/OS features and works withvendors on system sizing for specific applications. Understandsstorage virtualization data rationalization workload automationstorage provisioning Disaster Recovery and SAN Fabric management.
  • Troubleshoots storagerelated reliabilityavailability and performance issues.
  • Collaborates on and implements architecturerecommendations to application integration system administrationproblem management preventive maintenance performance tuning.Identifies and eliminates performance bottlenecks and makesperformancerelated recommendations (hardware softwareconfiguration).
  • Leads or participates in thesoftware development lifecycle which includes research newdevelopment modification security correction of errors reusereengineering and maintenance of software products. Manages orutilizes software that is built and implemented as a product usingbestinclass development process/lifecycle management (ex: AgileWaterfall). Gathers business requirements and participates inproduct definition and feature prioritization including customerusability studies.
  • Performs competitiveanalysis for features at a product level scope. Leads the testingand fixing of new or enhanced products.
  • Creates technical documentation of softwareproducts/solutions. Assists with the development and review of enduser and technical end user documentation.
  • Drives idea generation for new software products or forthe next version of an existing product.
  • Protects Intellectual property by working appropriatelegal elements (ex: procurement patents open source). Responsiblefor the delivery of products within budget schedule and qualityguidelines.
  • Works with the team to developmaintain and communicate current development schedules timelinesand development status. Makes changes to system software to correcterrors in the original implementation and creates extensions toexisting programs to add new features or performance improvements.
  • Designs and develops major functional orperformance enhancements for existing products or produces newsoftware products or tools. Reviews requirements specifications anddesigns to assure product quality; develops and implements plansand tests for product quality or performance assurance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contributes to the design and architecture ofnew or reengineered software/storage environments
  • Prepares written software/storage specifications forcomplex products from architectural diagrams and documents
  • Develops and reviews design functionaltechnical and/or user documentation as needed Develops reviewsanalyzes and implements test strategies for software products andsystems/for storage products and systems
  • Develops tests and integrates code for new or existingsoftware of significant complexity
  • Providessustaining or maintenance support to existing software/storageenvironment either by implementation or providing guidance to lesssenior engineers
  • Designs and implementssource code revision control methods for products
  • Prepares accurate project status documentation forleadership Measures and analyzes quality metrics.
  • Defines and implements actions for departmental orcrossfunctional process improvements
  • Contributes to resource schedule and cost sizing forsoftware development projects of medium complexity
