About The Role
Looking for a seasoned Principal DBRE to design, automate, and operate scalable MySQL/PostgreSQL infrastructure on AWS (RDS, EC2).

Focus : automation, scalability, performance tuning, compliance (SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001), and sustainable data growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, automate, and operate scalable MySQL/PostgreSQL infrastructure on AWS (RDS, EC2).
  • Lead performance tuning (queries, schema, indexes), version upgrades, and scale-out strategies (Vitess, ProxySQL, replication, sharding).
  • Reduce manual work with scripting (Python, Bash, Go) and IaC (Terraform).
  • Architect partitioning and data archival strategies for growth & cost efficiency.
  • Enforce security, auditing, RBAC, encryption, and compliance controls.
  • Implement observability : CloudWatch, PMM, Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Drive incident response, RCA, and long-term reliability improvements.
  • Mentor teams, define DB standards, support query/system optimizations.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years in MySQL/PostgreSQL in high-volume environments.
  • 7+ years operating MySQL/PostgreSQL on AWS (RDS, EC2).
  • Deep knowledge of MySQL internals, optimization, replication, upgrades.
  • Strong in scripting (Python, Bash, Go), Terraform, automation-first mindset.
  • Experience with Kubernetes for DB utilities or orchestration.
  • Familiarity with scale-out systems (Vitess, ProxySQL), data lifecycle management.
  • Security/compliance expertise (SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO
  • Strong communication & cross-functional collaboration Qualifications :
