Urgent hiring : JD - Project Designer Reports To: Design Director Works In Conjunction With: Interior Technical Head Department: Design Role Overview: The Project Designer at Aum Architects plays a pivotal role in conceptualising, developing, and executing interior design projects from concept to completion. This position requires strong design sensibility, attention to detail, effective coordination with technical, execution, and client teams, and an ability to manage timelines efficiently. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design & Detailing Develop interior design concepts in alignment with the project brief, brand philosophy, and client vision. Prepare concept presentations, mood boards, and design narratives for client discussions. Translate approved concepts into detailed working drawings and presentation packages. Coordinate with the Interior Technical Head to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility in drawings, detailing, and material specifications. Review and finalise drawings before internal and client submissions. 2. Coordination Serve as a key link between the Design Director , Interior Technical Head , and the internal design team. Coordinate with consultants (MEP, lighting, landscape, etc.) to ensure design integration and clarity. Liaise with vendors and material suppliers for design samples, finishes, and specifications. Participate in review meetings to ensure design alignment across disciplines. 3. Planning & Timelines Prepare and maintain project design schedules in coordination with the Design Director. Track deliverables and ensure all stages — concept, schematic, design development, and GFC — meet defined deadlines. Anticipate design bottlenecks and proactively suggest solutions to keep the workflow on schedule. Ensure design deliverables are issued in accordance with internal and client timelines. 4. Site Coordination Conduct periodic site visits to review ongoing works, check alignment with design intent, and flag discrepancies. Coordinate with the Interior Technical Head and site team to resolve on-site design or detail-related issues. Update the design team on site progress and document variations or approved design changes. Ensure that the final execution adheres to approved drawings, finishes, and detailing. 5. Meeting Timelines & Deliverables Maintain a structured workflow from concept to execution, ensuring milestones are achieved on time. Follow up with respective teams for pending inputs or approvals to avoid delays. Present project updates during internal review meetings with clear reports on progress and next steps. Communication Flow & Reporting Structure Reporting Line: Directly Reports To: Design Director Collaborates With: Interior Technical Head Communication Flow: Design Direction & Aesthetics: To be guided and approved by the Design Director. Technical Feasibility & Execution Detailing: To be coordinated with and validated by the Interior Technical Head. Inter-Department Coordination (Site, Vendors, Consultants): The Project Designer acts as the communication bridge, ensuring both creative intent and technical feasibility are maintained. Escalations & Final Decisions: All final design and client-facing decisions are to be routed through the Design Director. Key Skills & Attributes Strong conceptual and visualization skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and MS Office. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Eye for detailing and high design quality. Team player with strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Performance Indicators Timely delivery of design stages and drawing packages. Design quality and alignment with Aum Architects’ standards. Smooth coordination with technical and site teams. Client satisfaction and positive feedback on design and delivery. Minimal rework due to design or detailing errors.
