As an MER Quality Control Associate, your role would involve for ensuring of medical examination reports' accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Here are some key responsibilities and tasks associated with this position:
Quality Assurance Processes:
Implement quality assurance processes and protocols to ensure that medical examination reports meet regulatory requirements, industry standards and different insurance organizations' guidelines. Ensure medical underwriting cases are resolved as per the TAT.
Review and Evaluation:
Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of medical examination reports to identify errors, inconsistencies, or omissions. Verify the accuracy of medical data, diagnoses, treatment plans, and recommendations. Conduct Re audits to ensure process accuracy.
Training and Education:
Coordinate and organize periodic training programs to enhance and refresh the knowledge and skills of team members. Provide training on medical terminology, report structure, data coding, and relevant regulations.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to optimize workflow, enhance productivity, and minimize errors. Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline processes and implement best practices.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and suggest strategies to mitigate them.
Continuous Learning:
Stay updated with advancements in medical practices, regulations, and technology related to medical examination reports. Participate in professional development activities and continuously learn to enhance your expertise.
Must Haves
Education: A bachelor's degree in a medical field such as BHMS or BAMS (Non-MBBS).
Experience: Previous experience in Medical Underwriting would be necessary. Prior experience in healthcare, medical records review, or quality assurance. Experience in Insurance Industry would be an added advantage. Experience in a leadership or supervisory position, managing a team or project, is needed.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology: Strong knowledge of medical terminology is essential to understanding and evaluating medical examination reports accurately. Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, medical conditions, and procedures is necessary for effectively leading a quality assurance team.
Quality Assurance Skills: Expertise in quality assurance processes, methodologies, and tools is necessary. This includes developing and implementing quality control procedures, performing audits, and identifying improvement areas.
Analytical and Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are required to evaluate medical examination reports, identify errors or inconsistencies, and provide feedback to team members. Attention to detail is crucial to ensure accuracy and completeness.
