We are looking for an ambitious and hands-on Director of Engineering to join our product engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with 6-8 years of experience who is passionate about technology, eager to make an impact, and ready to grow alongside the company.
Role Overview:
As our Director of Engineering, you will spend your 50% of time in hand on coding and other 50% in leading technical teams, including product development, quality assurance (QA), DevOps, and cloud services. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with team mentorship to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in India and the US, helping shape our technical strategy and execute our product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Delivery:
- Hands-on with full-stack development to set standards and drive best practices.
- Ensure the use of robust development methodologies and processes.
- Guide architecture and system design for scalable, efficient solutions.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor engineering teams across product development (backend, frontend and mobile), QA, DevOps, and cloud.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Recruit, train, and develop top engineering talent.
Product Quality:
- Oversee QA processes to maintain exceptional product quality and performance.
- Champion continuous testing, integration, and delivery practices.
DevOps & Cloud Management:
- Manage DevOps processes to streamline deployment and operations.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
Strategic Collaboration:
- Partner with senior leadership to align technology strategy with company goals.
- Communicate technical progress, challenges, and opportunities to stakeholders.
Who You Are:
- Experience: 6-8 years in product engineering, preferably in a startup environment. Prior leadership or management experience not required.
- Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on skills in full-stack development (front-end and back-end). Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices is a plus.
- Mindset: You thrive in startup environments—adaptable, resourceful, and ready to take ownership.
