Job Purpose:
To manage, estimate, monitor, and control the costs related to earthwork and infrastructure construction projects. Ensure that project costs are controlled efficiently, contracts are managed properly, and accurate billing is done as per site execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimation & Costing
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for earthwork, roadwork, excavation, filling, embankment, and related civil works.
- Analyze BOQs (Bill of Quantities), drawings, and technical specifications.
- Prepare rate analysis for earthwork (cutting, filling, compaction, borrow area, transport, etc.).
- Measurement & Billing
- Take site measurements of executed earthwork.
- Prepare client bills, RA bills, and subcontractor bills as per actual work.
- Ensure correct measurement books (MB) are maintained.
- Contracts & Documentation
- Verify subcontractor agreements, work orders, and scope of work.
- Monitor contract compliance and variations.
- Maintain records of quantity, cost, and claims.
- Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor actual costs vs. estimated costs.
- Highlight deviations and cost overruns to the Project Manager.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly quantity and cost reports.
- Coordination & Site Support
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and clients.
- Support in planning and scheduling by providing quantity data.
- Assist in tender preparation and bidding for new projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- 2- years' experience in earthwork / infrastructure projects (roads, highways, site development, embankments).
- Knowledge of MS Excel, and billing software.
- Strong knowledge of IS codes, MoRTH specifications (if road/highway project).
- Good negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to prepare rate analysis and BOQ independently.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in earthwork, highways, canals, site grading, or land development projects.
- Exposure to government contract billing (PWD, NHAI, State Highways) is an advantage.
- Willing to travel and stay at project sites in Tamil Nadu.
Pay: Minimum (Rs.15,000) – Maximum (Based on experience) per month
