Qualifications
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related sciences with hands-on experience on AI/ML8+ years of people management experience with demonstrated ability to build strong teams.Understanding of Order to Cash/Finance/Services business processes and application of industry best practices.Experience in architecting and driving implementation of large-scale services.Proven design and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on quality and engineering excellence.Strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to represent team/Microsoft in internal and external forums.Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.Additional Details
: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Responsibilities
As the Principal Engineering Manager of the team, you will build modern, intelligent services and solutions, through technological innovation and building partnerships across the company. You will get to lead a team of engineers and partners with leaders across Commerce and Ecosystems, Azure and the rest of the company. This position will be directly responsible for driving critical core business services for the company and leading the intelligence wave underway in industry like AI, Co-Pilots for our organization. You will have an opportunity to have a lot of executive visibility and have a deep technical impact dealing with services on a scale that very few teams in the company have.We are currently seeking a Principal Level Software Engineering Manager with seasoned engineering development experience and leadership abilities who are passionate about digital transformation and building world class engineering solutions.As part of our team, you will design, implement, deliver and operate SAP surround solutions on Azure for Microsoft’s enterprise business processes and build CoPilots and Insights. This position requires strong collaboration and teamwork across teams and organizational boundaries and ensuring that the solutions delivered are in alignment with the roadmap for current and future business scenarios.Your ability to be the customer advocate and to focus on transforming end-to-end experience will be critical to your and the team’s success. Your mission will be to deliver new capabilities to business while ensuring that our services are always on, always available and always evolving.Strong passion for technology and Innovative thinking on envisioning roadmaps and delivering comprehensive solutions that are agile and scalable.
Key responsibilities:As the Principal Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the following:Lead a software engineering teams and build solutions across multiple teams and complex integrated ecosystems and dependencies.Champion modern engineering practices (Agile, Live Site, Monitoring, Telemetry, backlog grooming, etc.)Execute flawlessly – Big Bet project releases, Product Launches, Fiscal Closes and other moments of truth.Demonstrate strategic thinking, customer obsession and passion for quality.Achieve more with less by optimizing solutions, Service improvements and spending less on resources and infrastructure.Partner with peers on system performance, capacity management and scalability to ensure sustained service stability, SLAs and Business KPIsEnsure to stay secure and compliant with all relevant services including SOX requirements.Influence decisions and business outcomes through strong collaboration with stakeholders, partners and global counterpartsDelivering success through empowerment of team and accountability by modelling, coaching, and caring.Guiding and fostering professional development and career progression for team membersFoster diverse perspectives and inclusive behaviorsRepresent team’s work in Business reviews and deep dives and live site with Senior Leadership
