ROLE:
The Finance Controller at Novatr will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial aspects of the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of financial principles, regulatory compliance, and business operations. The Finance Controller will work closely with senior management to drive financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support informed decision-making.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement, own and lead end to end Financial accounting, Corporate Tax, Statutory compliance, Audits & control processes at Novatr
- Collaborate with the leadership team in the annual budgeting and planning process
- Drive a regular review of all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate
- Work with business verticals in delivering business Analytics, budgeting, forecasting & management reporting which helps Novatr to deliver/exceed business performance
- Manage and monitor organizational cash flow and continuously assess the financial efficacy of operations
- Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, budgets and actual expenditures to bring financial discipline
- Support the investments / ad-hoc projects from Finance perspective
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- CA/CPA with 8+ years experience including Controllership stint. Experience in the D2C EdTech industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, Indian AS, and local tax and regulatory compliance.
- Work experience in early-stage startups or founding experience is a plus
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership to create a cohesive working environment and drive high performance
- Strong numerical ability coupled with sound reasoning and analytical skills
