Job Description:


Job Summary: The Account is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting (GAAP) principles and procedures to analyze, verify and prepare financial information and account reconciliations and assist in audits and other reporting needs.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares monthly journal entries.
  • Prepares account reconciliations, researches exception items, and takes corrective action.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends, exceptions, and anomalies.
  • Recommends improvements to processes, controls, and procedures.
  • Prepares, and maintains accurate records and reports of accounting transactions.
  • Coordinates with other departments as needed to complete tasks.
  • Contributes to H&P’s efforts to comply with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Performs other special projects and analyses as directed by management.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of related accounting experience to reflect the skills necessary for this role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of general financial accounting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (such as Excel and Word).


Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or Finance.
