Senior Data modeler
Experience: ● 10+ years Data Modeling & Design:
● Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that meet the business requirements.
● Design and implement data models for data warehouses, data marts, and OLAP systems.
● Ensure data models are scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
● Collaborate with database administrators to create efficient database structures (tables, indexes, views).
Tools & Technologies:
● Utilize data modeling tools such as ERwin, Visio, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, or others.
● Work with various database systems, including but not limited to Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AlloyDB and cloud-based databases like BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake.
● Stay current with emerging data modeling trends, tools, and technologies to recommend improvements. Collaboration & Consultation:
● Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into data models.
● Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring alignment on data architecture strategies.
● Provide expertise and guidance on data modeling best practices to development teams and other stakeholders. Data Governance & Quality:
● Establish and enforce data modeling standards, guidelines, and best practices.
● Ensure data models comply with organizational data governance policies and standards.
● Validate data models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with business requirements.
Documentation & Communication:
● Document all aspects of data models, including definitions, relationships, and data flow.
● Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
● Provide training and mentoring to junior data modelers and other team members.
Programming Language: Java, Python, Scala, SQL, etc.
Cloud: GCP, AWS, Azure Streaming: PubSub or Kafka or equivalent
Storage Required: GCS, S3, HDFS / ORC, Parquet, Avro / Delta, Hudi, Iceberg
ETL: Spark or Beam or equivalent
