Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and versatile IT Generalist / Project Manager to join our dynamic IT department. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of IT requests from across the business. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for new IT initiatives, responsible for analyzing, triaging, and directing requests for both internal infrastructure projects and client-facing project support. Furthermore, this individual will act as a technical project manager to facilitate these initiatives The Technical PM will also provide vital backup for some of the core tasks of our IT architects. Keeping our platforms secure, up to date and monitored during the absence of one of our architects. We are looking for someone with analytical skills who is not afraid to jump into action and work on requests both in ServiceNow from an administrative side and on the actual platforms from the technical perspective.

Key responsibilities

Request Management and Triage:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all incoming IT requests from various business units.
  • Analyze and clarify business requirements, distinguishing between internal IT projects and client-related project needs.
  • Assess the security, scope, and approach required for each type of request to ensure proper handling from the outset.

Technical Project Management:

  • For approved requests, take the lead in project initiation and planning.
  • Identify and bring together the necessary stakeholders, including business users, technical teams, and external partners.
  • Organize and lead meetings, workshops, and follow-up sessions to ensure project momentum and clear communication.
  • Track project progress and ensure that deliverables are met on time and within scope.

Architectural Support:

  • Provide backup support for our IT architects during their absence to ensure business continuity.
  • Assist in the maintenance and administration of our cloud platforms, including Microsoft Entra and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Support security update management across both Microsoft Windows and Linux server environments.

Required:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, such as an IT Coordinator, Technical Project Manager, or IT Business Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of the distinction between internal corporate IT and client-facing project requirements, particularly concerning security and data handling.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management, including stakeholder management and meeting facilitation.
  • A solid foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms and operating systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • General knowledge of networking is required. Understanding the basics of a Network segment, mail-flow and -security is an absolute must .

Desirable:

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD) and/or AWS.

Familiarity with patch management and security updates for both Windows and Linux systems. Experience working in an organization that supports both internal and external clients.
