Senior software development engineer

Technology / Engineering – Software Development Role Description We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer III (SDE-III) to join our team of bright thinkers and doers. As an SDE-III, you will collaborate with agile teams across global client accounts to design, develop, and maintain scalable digital business applications. You’ll be instrumental in solving complex business challenges, optimizing technical decisions, and mentoring engineers — all while driving innovation and continuous improvement. This role demands deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices, with a strong focus on Gen AI/ML integration and next-gen application design. Your Impact Drive agile delivery, sprint outcomes, and end-to-end product engineering in collaboration with client and internal teams. Define and govern business epics, requirements, and non-functional aspects (performance, scalability, security, etc.). Lead technical design sessions, define solution architectures, and create system-level documentation. Optimize and make critical design decisions while balancing trade-offs at scale. Mentor SDE-II/I engineers, evangelize engineering best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Govern engineering metrics adoption, test-first/TDD/BDD practices, and technical debt reduction. Design and integrate enterprise-scale systems with emphasis on cloud, APIs, and distributed architectures. Proactively adopt and evangelize Dev Ops, automation-first mindset, and modern CI/CD practices. Lead reviews of system design, integration, performance, and scalability. Collaborate cross-functionally with recruitment, learning, and people teams to develop technical talent. Minimum Qualifications 13+ years of professional experience building and deploying large-scale, high-volume, distributed applications. Proven expertise in Gen AI/ML solutions and building POCs for new business and tech use cases. Deep knowledge of at least two programming languages and advanced concepts (memory management, multi-threading, async execution, closures, GC, lambdas, streams, performance tuning). Strong expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), distributed caching (Redis, Memcache), and cloud-native design patterns. Experience with microservices, service mesh, sidecars, K8s orchestration, and reactive programming (Spring Reactor/RX Java, Akka, Play). Knowledge of API gateways, Graph QL, messaging platforms (Kafka, Rabbit MQ, JMS), and distributed tracing/debugging tools. Expertise in secure coding practices, cryptography, authentication (OAuth, JWT, SAML), and compliance frameworks. Hands-on in Dev Ops, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation), and CI/CD pipeline setup. Proven experience building high-performance web applications (React, Angular, Vue, or similar). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Experience with AI/ML-driven architectures, CEP, Event Sourcing, CQRS. Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling), monitoring solutions (Splunk, ELK, Grafana). Exposure to search solutions like Elastic Search, SOLR, Endeca. Proven leadership in mentoring, coaching, and driving technical excellence across global, cross-cultural teams.
