Job Opening: Backend Developer

We are building 
Yoco – a mobile app and web platform
 – and are looking for a 
skilled Backend Developer
 to join our team.

You'll be working closely with our 
Flutter mobile developer
 and 
React frontend developer
, providing backend support and developing APIs to power the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain 
    RESTful APIs
     for mobile and web platforms.
  • Handle 
    database design, queries, and optimisation
    .
  • Ensure smooth integration of APIs with 
    Flutter (Android/iOS)
     and 
    React web frontend
    .
  • Implement 
    authentication, data security, and role-based access
    .
  • Troubleshoot and resolve 
    backend issues independently
    .
  • Deploy and maintain backend on 
    cloud/hosting platforms
    .

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of proven experience
     in backend development.
  • Strong proficiency in 
    /
     (or equivalent backend framework).
  • Solid knowledge of 
    MySQL / PostgreSQL / MongoDB
     (any one).
  • Experience with 
    API documentation tools
     (Postman/Swagger).
  • Hands-on with 
    server deployment
     (AWS / GCP / DigitalOcean / etc.).
  • Good understanding of 
    scalability, performance, and security best practices
    .
  • Ability to work 
    independently without constant guidance
    .

Optional but Valuable

  • Experience with 
    Firebase (Auth, Notifications, Realtime DB/Firestore)
    .
  • Exposure to 
    CI/CD, Git, Docker
    .
