The client is looking for an AWS Redshift Subject Matter Expert (SME):


An AWS Redshift Subject Matter Expert (SME) has in-depth technical knowledge of the AWS service and uses this knowledge to improve customer experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Participating in AWS Certification exam development events
  • Establishing exam topics
  • Developing and evaluating exam questions
  • Determining the exam's passing score
  • Driving continuous improvement
  • Using data analysis to identify gaps and recommend solutions
  • Communicating and providing progress updates on multiple projects
  • Creating dashboards to analyze opportunities and identify patterns


Qualifications:

Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) has multiple AWS Redshift environments for data analytics development and running production workloads. The work defined is to perform in-depth analysis of the Redshift cluster configuration and workloads and optimize them.

Deliverables:

  • Analyze EDP production cluster and identify top workloads and queries
  • Define optimization steps for workloads and run them
  • Review table structures, keys and joins
  • Run vacuum analyze on table
  • Adjust join criteria as required
  • Identify cluster parameters that need to be updated
  • Run workload on different configurations
  • Design parameters to reduce cost and query run times
