1.0Role1.1PositionEngineer1.2Reports/ directsReports to: Discipline Head / Senior Lead EngineerDirects: Functionally group of Designers for the project1.3Job summaryHelps managing the discipline for safe, operable and economic designs ranging conceptual engineering, front-end engineering, detailed engineering, procurement engineering & close-outEnsures the designs meet the quality and agreed project requirementsPerforms as Lead Engineer role to successfully complete engineering activities of the project.1.4Level in the organization8th from Head of Engineering Services1.5Key RelationshipsInternal: With relevant teams within L&T group.External: With respective clients.2.0Key Responsibilities2.1- ManagementActs as Leave replacement to the LE / Senior Engineer as appropriate2.2- Quality/HSEPerforms discipline check and Inter-discipline check of documentsEnsures that the required integrity and quality of the work is maintainedUnderstands the Quality/HSE Management system and their procedures2.3- Project ExecutionSupports LE/Senior Engineer in Preparing and updating Engineering plan for the assigned projectSupports LE/ Senior Engineer in Preparing and updating Document Control IndexPrepares detailed engineering documents, procurement engineering documents e.g. material requisitions, evaluate technical bids & reviews Vendor / third party documentsExecutes the engineering & design works within budget and scheduleCo-ordinates with other disciplines & resolves the engineering issues.Assists Discipline Heads/ LEs in preparing man-hour estimates. Monitors month-wise man hoursMaintains registers for scope changesSupports preparation of Quantity monitoring reports for assigned projectInteracts with vendors for input data for engineering and other technical issuesProvides Field engineering support as requiredFacilitates project close outProvides inputs for capturing lessons learnt.2.4- Business DevelopmentAttends seminars/ workshops2.5- ProposalsPrepares scope of work and seeks clarifications for ambiguous /Incomplete / incorrect information2.6- Planning & SchedulingSupports Senior Engineer in providing input to the project execution planning and scheduling3.0Supporting processes3.1- Human resourcesCoaches and develops junior engineer/ designer to fulfil disciplineengineering roles. Helps facilitates team building4.0Job Requirements4.1Language:Good command on spoken and written English4.2Education:Master degree or Bachelors’ degree in related Engineering4.3Professional Experience:5 years in Engineering & Design4.4Key Competencies(Functional)Conversant with relevant codes and standards for Sizing, selection of Control Systems, Special Instrument Systems, Field Instruments, and Instrument Bulks etc.Shall have familiarity with Control Systems e.g. DCS/ESD/F&G/ Sub control system PLCs etc, Special Instruments like Analysers, Machine and temperature monitoring systems etc.Shall have exposure in sizing and selection of Field Instruments: Pressure, Flow, Temperature, and Level measuring sensors, transmitters and meters.Shall have exposure in Control / Shutdown and Safety valve Sizing and selection.Shall be conversant with Networked instruments over Foundation Field bus, Modbus, Profibus etc.Shall be equipped with Hazardous area and OISD normsShall be equipped with design norms of Control Rooms and its equipment Layout, and field LayoutsShall have exposure in various sizing software and SPI SoftwareGood knowledge of organisation and system proceduresGeneral knowledge of management techniques4.5Key Competencies(Bhavioural)Customer Focus, Team WorkCommunication skills, Time management skills
