We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Data Governance and Data Lineage
Manager to oversee and implement robust data governance practices and manage data lineage initiatives within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data management principles, regulatory requirements, and best practices in data governance and lineage. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to drive the organization's data governance strategy and ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance.
Its a Individual Contributor role.
Responsibilities:Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, policies, and procedures to ensure the effective management and utilization of organizational data assets.Establish data governance roles and responsibilities, including data stewards, data owners, and data governance council, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication.Define and enforce data standards, definitions, and data quality rules to maintain consistency, accuracy, and integrity of enterprise data.Conduct data risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate data-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).Lead data lineage initiatives to capture, document, and visualize end-to-end data flows across systems, processes, and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and traceability of data lineage.Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to identify critical data elements and map data lineage from source to destination systems.Develop and maintain metadata repositories, data catalogs, and data dictionaries to support data governance and lineage activities.Monitor and evaluate data governance and lineage processes and controls, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.Provide guidance and training to staff on data governance principles, practices, and tools, fostering a culture of data stewardship and accountability.Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance and lineage matters, representing the organization in meetings, conferences, and industry forums.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) preferred.Proven experience (12+ years) in data governance, data management, or related roles, with a focus on data lineage and metadata management.Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., DAMA, DMBOK).Experience implementing data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and metadata management solutions.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to data governance and privacy (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).Proficiency in data analysis, data modeling, and data profiling techniques, with the ability to interpret complex data lineage diagrams.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and drive initiatives to completion.Leadership qualities, including strategic thinking, decision-making, and the ability to influence and inspire others.Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
