School Principal (CBSE School)
The Principal functions as the chief academic administrator and serves as a crucial link between the management, staff, and students. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional academic qualifications, robust administrative skills, and a strong personal reputation, coupled with substantial experience in engineering colleges. The Principal is expected to inspire staff and students alike, particularly by exemplifying discipline and showing steadfast dedication to the institution.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Head of the School/Principal
Organization Level
Act as the ex-officio Member Secretary of the School Management Committee.
Serve as the Head of Office , overseeing all academic and administrative responsibilities of the school.
Ensure strict compliance with the Affiliation and Examination Bylaw and CBSE directives.
Act as the drawing and disbursing officer for school employees, performing this role for unaided schools as per the Society's instructions.
Maintain accurate records, including accounts, service books, registers, and statistics, as specified by the Society/Board.
Handle official correspondence and provide required information to the State Government/Board promptly.
Financial and Resource Management
Oversee purchases and manage stock in adherence to procurement rules.
Conduct an annual physical verification of school property and maintain accurate stock registers.
Ensure the proper utilization of the budget allocated for the School
Maintain the school building, fixtures, furniture, equipment, playgrounds, and gardens while ensuring facilities like drinking water and sanitation are in excellent condition.
Staff and Academic Oversight
Supervise and guide teaching and non-teaching staff, including allocating duties and teaching loads.
Oversee admissions , prepare the school timetable, and ensure the smooth conduct of examinations in line with Board/Government guidelines.
Plan the academic work for the year in consultation with staff and hold monthly review meetings .
Promote professional growth among teachers by encouraging participation in training and innovation in pedagogy.
Supervise classroom teaching and foster cooperation between departments.
Student Support and Development
Arrange remedial teaching for weaker students and those requiring additional support.
Plan and implement informal and non-classroom teaching activities.
Organize co-curricular activities through an effective house system or other methods.
Develop the school library to ensure access to valuable books and journals for students and teachers.
Send regular progress reports to parents or guardians.
Promote students' physical well-being, maintain cleanliness, and arrange for regular medical examinations .
Academic Contributions
Dedicate at least one period daily to teaching.
Send teachers for evaluation and other academic duties related to Board examinations.
Accept and perform duties assigned by the Board, including acting as a Centre Superintendent for examinations, without delegating these responsibilities.
Preferred candidate profile :
Educational Background:
A Master's Degree in any discipline with a Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Education is essential.
Experience
At least 3 years as a Principal in a CBSE School with 5 years of leadership experience in various Boards.
Demonstrated track record of successful delivery and leadership.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Campus Management Software.
Key Skills:
Communication and Negotiation: Ability to clearly convey technical information and collaborate with stakeholders.
Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Skills to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
Decision-Making: Capacity to make informed and timely decisions.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in the latest tools, software, methods, and standards in civil engineering design.
Knowledge Base
Exposure to school education till Senior Secondary level.
Familiarity with Robotics, Coding projects for schools.
