Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Global Category Lead - Additives to join our team.
In this leadership role, you will guide a global team of Category Sourcing Managers and be responsible for defining and implementing strategies to manage a nearly € million spend while driving year-over-year value. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders across business units and R&D, oversee strategic supplier management for the top 25 vendors, and ensure that all strategies align with AkzoNobel’s corporate sustainability goals
Position location can be based anywhere in South Asia
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement global category strategies for Additives to achieve savings and value targets Lead a team of Category Sourcing Managers across the globe to drive category performance Develop and maintain relationships with top 25 strategic suppliers Collaborate with internal stakeholders across business units and R&D to ensure alignment of category strategies with overall business goals Ensure all strategies align with AkzoNobel’s corporate sustainability goals Manage supplier performance and risk, ensuring continuity of supply Implement best practices in category management, supplier management, and sourcing processes Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends and opportunities
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Chemistry with MBA in International Business or Supply Chain Management, or related field Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management Experience in managing a global team of procurement professionals Strong background in category management and sourcing processes Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams Experience in the chemical industry, specifically with Additives, is preferred
