Legal Manager – Unsecured Lending || BFSI/NBFC

Location:
Mumbai, India

Must-Haves (please read before applying):

  • 5+ years of BFSI experience in
    Unsecured Lending Collections
    (not secured loans, not practicing background).
  • Hands-on execution on field
    – recoveries, legal actions, and coordination with agencies.
  • Strong in
    Section 25, Arbitration, Police Complaints, and 90+ collections
    .
  • LLB is mandatory.

Collections & Legal Manager
with deep expertise in
unsecured lending recoveries
. The role involves driving end-to-end legal recovery processes, field execution, and ensuring compliance while maximizing recovery rates.

A leading financial services company specializing in innovative lending solutions is seeking a seasoned Collections & Legal Manager with extensive experience in the BFSI sector, particularly in lending. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in legal collections, including proficiency in handling Section 25, Arbitration, Police Complaints, and managing 90+ collections. The role involves overseeing the entire collections process, spearheading legal actions, and ensuring strict compliance with regulations to optimize recovery rates while minimizing legal risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage recoveries for
    unsecured loan accounts (90+ DPD)
    .
  • Drive
    Section 25 processes, Arbitration, Police Complaints, and legal drafting
    .
  • Liaise with
    law enforcement agencies, recovery organizations, and external legal counsel
    .
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance & Operations for seamless execution.
  • Ensure compliance with lending regulations and report recovery performance to management.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven success in managing
    legal recoveries in banks/NBFCs
    (not purely from a practicing background).
  • Strong knowledge of
    BFSI lending laws, collections strategy & compliance
    .
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with
    DRT/NCLT
    will be a plus.
