SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Analyst’s role is to develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for specific teams within the organization. This individual will also gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This will include writing and executing test plans and tracking defects as they arise. The QA Analyst will apply proven analytical and problem- solving skills to help validate processes through careful testing to maximize the benefit of business investments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with counterparts on established quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment to determine the intended functionality.
Work with product designers and developers at all stages to promote quality.
Work closely with the testing team, developers and BRM for requirements, testing, and deployment activities.
Track and report upon testing activities, including testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status, performance baselines, etc.
Assist in performing any applicable maintenance to tools used in Testing and resolve issues if any.
Ensure content and structure of all testing documents/artifacts is documented and maintained.
Prepare and develop test strategies and test.
Verify and revise quality assurance standards.
Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
Create and execute manual and automated test scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications.
Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and system goals and fulfill end-user requirements.
Anticipate, identify, log and track issues as they arise and communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to QA and project.
Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices
Assist in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
2+ years direct experience as a QA Analyst for major application integration and/or major application product release
1+ years of direct hands-on experience with Financial and Billing
Extensive experience with core software applications, including web and client/server applications
Must be able to work in front end and back-end QA
Extensive experience in database testing – Oracle, Sybase
Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must exhibit a highly organized approach
Excellent written and oral communication
Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and be able to work on multiple applications simultaneously
