Founding Senior Backend Engineer (3-Month Contract | Immediate Start)Location: Hyderabad, India (Hybrid preferred)Contract: 3 months (with high potential to convert to full-time)Start: ImmediateAbout the RoleWe’re looking for a Founding Senior Backend Engineer to design and build our core wallet and trading infrastructure from the ground up.You’ll own the backend architecture that powers our flagship crypto-fintech app from wallet services and trade execution to yield strategies and AI-driven trading policies. You’ll work closely with mobile engineers (React Native/Flutter), product, and design to ship a platform that is secure, performant, and ready to scale from 0 → 1.This is a high-ownership role where your decisions will define the technical foundation of the product.What You’ll Do- Architect and build core backend services for wallet management, balances, transactions, and accounting/ledgering.- Design and implement trading infrastructure:- Order routing and execution- Integration with liquidity providers and exchanges- Slippage, fees, and risk constraints- Implement yield and trading strategies as robust, configurable services (DCA, yield products, automated rebalancing, etc.).- Build AI-driven policy and execution layers:- Define policy engines that can evaluate signals and constraints- Safely trigger, simulate, and execute trades based on AI-driven or rules-based strategies- Design secure APIs consumed by mobile and web clients.- Own data persistence and performance: relational databases, caching layers, and event-driven flows.- Ensure security, reliability, and observability:- Logging, metrics, alerting- Rate limiting, auth, and permissions- High availability and resilience- Collaborate closely with a global team (North America & India) across product, design, and mobile.- Play a key role in architecture, technical roadmap, and product decisions as a founding engineer.Requirements- 3+ years of professional backend engineering experience (ideally in product-focused teams).- Proven experience designing and shipping production backend systems (microservices or modular monoliths).- Strong in TypeScript/Node.js and/or Go/Rust, with solid fundamentals in system design and distributed systems.- Hands-on experience with REST (and/or GraphQL) APIs, Relational databases (e.g., Postgres), Caching and state management (Redis or similar)- Strong understanding of performance, scalability, and reliability in backend systems.- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and architectural skills.- Comfortable working in fast-moving, early-stage environments with high autonomy.- Immediate availability to join and start building.- Willingness to collaborate with a global team in North America (overlapping hours where needed).Bonus Skills- Experience working on FinTech or Crypto products (exchanges, wallets, brokerages, payment apps).- Familiarity with wallet security, key management, and authentication flows (e.g., OAuth, JWT, biometrics integration via APIs).- Experience with trading systems, market data, or yield strategies.- Knowledge of AI/ML or policy engines used for decision-making and automation.- Experience with testing, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure, containers, Kubernetes, etc.).- Comfort collaborating with frontend/mobile teams and product in TypeScript-heavy environments.Why This Role MattersThis is an opportunity to join at the ground floor as a founding backend engineer and shape the technical DNA of a next-generation crypto product.You’ll:- Define the core wallet and trading infrastructure.- Architect systems that AI-driven strategies and millions of future users can rely on.- Have real ownership, autonomy, and impact on how the product works under the hood.If you love building secure, high-performance systems, enjoy thinking in terms of primitives and platforms rather than one-off features, and want to help power a product that could serve millions of users — this role is for you.Interested?DM me directly or apply with:- Your GitHub / portfolio- Links to products/systems you’ve built or shipped- A short note on relevant experience (trading, wallets, infra, or AI-driven systems)Let’s build something exceptional together.
