We are looking for a Senior Node.js Backend Developer & Team Lead to lead our backend engineering efforts, architect scalable systems, and guide a team of passionate developers in building India’s next-generation social network. Responsibilities Design, build, and optimize backend services using Node.js and TypeScript Architect reliable and high-performance APIs Lead technical discussions and make architectural decisions Work with PostgreSQL to design efficient schemas and queries Review code, guide best practices, and mentor junior developers Break product requirements into actionable engineering tasks and drive them to completion Work closely with product, design, and QA to ensure smooth delivery Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of professional experience in backend development Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript Solid understanding of SQL databases hands-on with PostgreSQL preferred Good understanding of WebSocket and basics of WebRTC Hands-on experience with Redis (caching, queues, job processing) Experience designing scalable backend architectures Proven ability to lead small teams, make technical decisions, and uphold best practices Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Comfortable taking ownership and setting technical direction when needed Nice to Have Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and general DevOps environments Experience with event-driven architecture or microservices Experience in startup or product-based environments Understanding of performance optimization and monitoring tools What you will work on Core backend features that support our product New feature development and product improvements Technical decisions that guide how the product evolves Enhancements for scalability, reliability, and performance Providing light technical leadership and support to the team Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery Why Join Us Work in a professional, collaborative startup environment High ownership and autonomy in technical decision-making Opportunity to grow into a long-term tech leadership role Work directly on product-critical systems that direct impact on the users
