SAP SD Lead Job Description

Role Overview: An SAP SD Lead is responsible for the implementation, configuration, and support of the SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) module within an organization. They lead the functional SAP SD team, managing and guiding the team in designing and delivering solutions aligned with the business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Leadership & Execution:

2. Lead the SAP SD implementation lifecycle, including requirement gathering, blueprinting, configuration, testing, and go-live.

3. Oversee the delivery of SAP SD solutions while ensuring they meet business needs.

4. Coordinate with stakeholders (business users, project managers, technical teams) to define, configure, and implement solutions.

5. Configuration & Solution Design:

6. Lead the configuration of the SAP SD module (sales order management, pricing, shipping, billing, credit management, etc.).

7. Design end-to-end processes for sales and distribution.

8. Ensure the solution integrates seamlessly with other SAP modules like MM (Materials Management) and FI (Financial Accounting).

9. Team Management:

10. Manage and mentor a team of SAP SD consultants, ensuring proper task allocation and performance.

11. Provide guidance in configuring the system and solving functional problems.

12. Review work and provide feedback to ensure quality and alignment with business goals.

13. Testing & Quality Assurance:

14. Oversee unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

15. Ensure the system is thoroughly tested and meets both functional and business requirements.

16. Work closely with end-users during UAT to ensure the solution meets expectations.

17. Training & Documentation:

18. Provide end-user training on SAP SD processes and functionalities.

19. Create user manuals, functional specifications, and system documentation to ensure knowledge transfer.

20. Post-Implementation Support:

21. Provide post-go-live support to resolve any issues and ensure the system runs smoothly.

22. Analyze and troubleshoot issues, ensuring timely resolutions and continuous improvement.

23. 8+ years of experience in SAP SD, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

24. In-depth knowledge of SAP SD processes, including sales order processing, shipping, billing, pricing, and integration with MM, FI, and other modules.
25. Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.
26. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
27. End to End implementation of SAP S/4HANA.
