Job Description
As a versatile and experienced Data Engineer & Cloud Administrator with expertise in Microsoft Azure you will be a part of our Data Engineering team and play a crucial role combining data engineering responsibilities with cloud administration tasks, ensuring the seamless integration of data solutions with Azure infrastructure to support our clients' digital transformation initiatives and business analytics projects.
This includes solutions for different business functions e.g. customer interaction, finance & accounting, supply chain & logistics, plant or office operations, sales & marketing, HR & employee interaction, recruitment etc. and requires awareness of business processes and use-cases for sectors like Retail & Distribution, D2C & E-Commerce, ITES & SaaS, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Healthcare, other services etc. The role will be:
Data Engineering:
Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to understand business requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into Azure data services. Use of Azure native connectors or design and deploy new pipelines in case of new API based connection or web-scraping based data.
Implement data cleansing, validation , and enrichment procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Work closely with analysts & client IT team to understand data requirements and optimize data models for analytics and reporting.
Documentation of architecture, pipeline, Process flow & Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs), Algorithm
Identification of bottlenecks in pipelines and CI/CD as per the requirement, updating the solution architecture components as & when required.
Continued optimization with planning on updates, changes & logic reworking.
Leverage data services properly such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Databricks to build scalable and high-performance data solutions.
Data Management: Segregation of records including Bronze, Silver, Gold and separation of Development and Production environments. Security Groups / Access hierarchy must be maintained for input & output files.
Develop and maintain data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, and other relevant tools (particularly Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint).
Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Implement security and compliance controls to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.
Ensure all managed data flows & data assets are clearly and accurately documented .
Cloud Administration:
Provision, configure, and manage Azure infrastructure components including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage accounts, and Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra.
Administer Azure services such as Azure App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and Azure Logic Apps.
Configure and manage Azure security features including identity and access management (IAM), network security groups (NSGs), and Azure Key Vault.
Implement monitoring and logging solutions for Azure resources using Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure Security Center.
Recommendations for continued optimization of cloud resources, plans deployed for compute, storage.
Automate administrative tasks and workflows using Azure Automation, PowerShell, or other scripts.
Perform regular backups, disaster recovery planning , and system maintenance tasks to ensure high availability and reliability of Azure environments.
Stay informed on Azure updates , new features, and best practices, and provide guidance and recommendations to internal teams and clients.

Qualification & Soft Skills Requirements
Minimum work experience of 2-3 years in development and deployment of designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services from scratch.
Graduation from a top-tier institute in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Data Science, Mathematics etc.
Certification in Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate (Course DP-203T00-A).
Demonstrated experience in data engineering, including data ingestion, transformation, and modeling, preferably in Azure environment.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other programming languages for data manipulation and analysis.
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with Azure infrastructure and services.
Solid understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
Enthusiastic about technology, Self-motivated and proactive, problem solving / solution-oriented attitude.
