Our client is looking for a Sr. DBA to Support the full lifecycle of NoSQL and SQL databases, from development to mission-critical production systems, Establish, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards, Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Database Management Systems, Monitor backups and maintenance jobs to ensure smooth operation, Identify and optimize poorly performing queries, Assist in ad-hoc query development and data analysis, Minimize database downtime and optimize parameters to ensure quick query responses, Conduct regular tests and evaluations to uphold data security, privacy, and integrity, Monitor database performance, implement necessary changes, and apply updates when required


Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role supporting NoSQL and SQL databases
  • Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, mongoDB, Redis, ClickHouse and other DBMS required
  • Experience to deploy databases in GCP cloud using terraform
  • Proficiency in instance, database, and query tuning to enhance database/application performance
  • Experience with query/programming languages such as PL/SQL, SQL, Python
  • Expertise to read python application code, debug and troubleshoot DB performance issues.
  • Experience to write simple python scripts to administer databases.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of Infrastructure/Networking, particularly in understanding protocols connecting networks to databases
  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills for effective collaboration with business partners, peer IT resources, and management at all levels
  • Ability to think logically, analyze performance data, and draw appropriate conclusions
  • Eagerness and enthusiasm to learn niche database administration skills
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
