Director of Engineering

Job Description

We are Looking for a Director of Engineering for one of

clients.

The role permits remote working so the candidate can be based out of anywhere.

Title: Director of Engineering Location: India, remote working.

Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in senior engineering leadership roles, with a track record of successfully leading large, cross-functional teams in the Ruby on Rails and React ecosystem.

Job Summary:We are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the key product engineering teams. You will be responsible for successful execution of the company's business mission through development of cutting-edge software products and solutions

Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the engineering department, ensuring alignment with the company's overall vision and objectives. Lead large scale transformation programs, product and application modernization projects.As an owner of the product you will be required to plan and execute the product road map and provide technical leadership to the engineering team. Drive the development and execution of a comprehensive engineering roadmap that leverages Ruby on Rails and React to support product innovation and business growth.Mentor and inspire a team of experienced engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Collaborate closely with executive leadership, product management, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize technical initiatives. High technical credibility - ability to audit technical decisions and push for the best solution to a problem.Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements. Establish and maintain industry-leading engineering practices, processes, and standards. Drive engineering and agile excellence with a focus on continuous improvement & CI/CD.Strive to continuously improve the operations, processes, methodologies, technology choices, and practices of the team.Experience, Education and Skills:

Experience:

15+ years of progressive experience in senior engineering leadership roles, with a track record of successfully leading large, cross-functional teams in the Ruby on Rails and React ecosystem.

Education:

Bachelor's / higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Tech Skills: Experience in building

complex,

scalable

enterprise applications,

Products,

Platforms,

Mobile applications,

Web applications,

and

SaaS-based

consumer-facing applications

using

the

latest frameworks

and technologies. Extensive technical expertise in Ruby on Rails and React, with a proven ability to provide technical guidance and make high-level architectural decisions within these technologies. Experience working in large Product organizations as well as early-stage startups. Proficient

in implementing SDLC methodologies

(Agile, hybrid,

Waterfall) and deep understanding of Continuous Delivery concepts and tools Extensive technical expertise in relevant technologies/fields, with a proven ability to provide technical guidance and make high-level architectural decisions. Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic engineering initiatives that have had a significant impact on the business. Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with C-level executives and external partners. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a results-oriented mindset.
