Brief: 


Reclamation is a women’s western wear brand catering to young, urban women who want to live responsibly. By combining chic, vintage-inspired designs with sustainable practices, Reclamation aims to be the one-stop for all women wanting to leave an impression wherever they go.

Fashion designer:


Reclamation is a mission-based company that believes that clothes should not do harm to the environment, and wants to provide women with the option to wear clothes they can feel good in, and good about. 


We have an exciting opportunity for a designer to be a part of our team. As a designer at Reclamation, you will be analyzing emerging trends and translate those into wearable designs that our customers love. You will work closely with our vendors to source fabrics, and communicate with manufacturers to ensure we make the best products for our customers.


This is a hybrid role for Mumbai based designers.


Key responsibilities:


Design development (silhouette and print): 

  • Search emerging trends and create mood boards to visually communicate your research
  • Interpret key trends into wearable designs 
  • Identify key silhouettes, fabrics and trims that are relevant to our customer 
  • Research relevant print designs for different silhouettes and create them using Illustrator or procreate 


Fabric sourcing:

  • Oversee fabric and trim sourcing for our products in order to continually elevate the product. Learn more about sustainable fabrics and ensure sourcing is in line with our broader sustainability goals. 
  • Be in communication with vendors to learn about fabric availabilities and qualities 
  • Visit fabric trade shows or vendors as and when required 


Product development: 

  • Develop all tech packs for the designs and work closely with manufacturers to translate the sketches into products 
  • Be responsible for fittings and sample designs before products go into production. Maintain both design and quality perspective while sampling.


Requirements: 

  • Past experience in women’s wear is appreciated
  • Strong eye for design 
  • Fluency with Adobe illustrator and procreate 
  • Strong understanding of fabrics (woven and knit both)
  • Ability to create tech packs
  • Have a commercial acumen
  • Genuine interest in learning about sustainability 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas confidently
