ROLE OVERVIEW


The Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a critical role in leading our organization's operational expansion and organizational restructuring efforts. With a focus on leveraging large tech transformation projects, building playbooks for all functions, and scaling operations, the COO will drive efficiency, innovation, and impact. This role requires a visionary leader who can navigate complex challenges, foster a culture of collaboration, and champion our mission to combat human trafficking worldwide. This role will report to the Founder and Global CEO. The preferred location is Mumbai.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Operational Playbook Development: Craft and refine operational playbooks that codify best practices, processes, and strategies for scaling. These playbooks will serve as a blueprint for current and future team members, encapsulating the organization's accumulated wisdom and providing clear guidelines for achieving operational excellence and scalability.
  • Product and Service Innovation: Lead the ideation, development, and launch of groundbreaking products and services that enhance our ability to combat human trafficking. This includes overseeing the lifecycle of product development from conception to deployment, ensuring that all innovations are aligned with our strategic goals and have a measurable impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a pivotal bridge across various departments, ensuring that product development, operational strategies, and scaling efforts are harmoniously integrated and aligned with the overall strategic vision of the organization. The COO will facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Operations Leadership: Lead the operational expansion efforts, ensuring scalability, sustainability, and alignment with our mission. Drive the organization's planning and execution to enhance operational capacity and impact.
  • Tech Transformation Initiatives: Spearhead large-scale technology transformation projects, integrating innovative tech solutions to advance our anti-trafficking initiatives and operational efficiency.
  • Organizational Restructuring: Oversee organizational restructuring efforts to optimize team performance and effectiveness. Implement best practices in change management to facilitate a smooth transition and adaptation to growth and change.
  • Process Optimization: Employ a continuous improvement mindset to refine and streamline operational processes. Ensure the integration of advanced AI tools and methodologies to enhance decision-making and operational agility.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team dedicated to operational excellence and mission fulfillment. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Partnership and Collaboration: Cultivate strategic partnerships with stakeholders, including technology partners, NGOs, government agencies, and the private sector, to amplify our impact and resources in the fight against human trafficking.
  • Financial Oversight: Work closely with the CFO to ensure financial strategies and decisions are aligned with operational goals and the organization's long-term sustainability.
  • Deep expertise in building playbooks and scaling from 200-400 people to 2k-5k people globally


EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Technology Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ year of experience in Operations Strategy
  • Scaled a tech startup significantly - joined at an initial stage and expanded it to a large organisation.
  • Proven leadership experience in operational roles, in a reputed Startup and Tech-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale technology transformation projects and scaling operations for significant growth.
