Help The Blind Foundation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Syllabus Coordinator for our Skill Development Training Program. The coordinator will be responsible for developing, organizing, and overseeing the curriculum for Computer, Spoken English, Mobility, and Employability subjects tailored for visually impaired students. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development:
Design and update comprehensive syllabi for Computer, Spoken English, Mobility, and Employability training programs.
Incorporate assistive technologies and adaptive learning materials into the curriculum. Ensure the curriculum aligns with educational standards and best practices for visually impaired education. Program Implementation:
Coordinate with instructors and trainers to deliver the curriculum effectively.
Organize training sessions and workshops for educators on the use of adaptive materials and technologies.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the curriculum to ensure it meets the desired outcomes. Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with special education teachers, orientation and mobility specialists, and other professionals to integrate their expertise into the curriculum.
Provide ongoing support and resources to educators and trainers.
Engage with parents and caregivers to ensure they are informed and involved in the educational process.
Assessment and Evaluation :
Develop assessment tools to measure the progress and skill acquisition of students.
Regularly review and update the curriculum based on feedback and assessment results. Prepare reports on program effectiveness and student outcomes.
Resource Management :
Identify and procure necessary educational materials, including braille texts, large-print books, tactile books and assistive devices.
Manage the budget for curriculum development and implementation. Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments and external partners to enhance training programs and ensure they meet the needs of visually impaired students. Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of training activities, student progress, and program outcomes. Prepare regular reports for management. Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest educational techniques and tools, and continuously seek ways to improve the training programs. Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Human Resources, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in training program coordination, curriculum development, or a related role. Experience working with visually impaired individuals is highly desirable. Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using educational technologies and software. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Knowledge of assistive technologies and tools for visually impaired individuals. Personal Attributes: Empathetic and patient, with a strong commitment to supporting visually impaired students. Innovative and adaptable, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement. Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and addressing challenges.
