You will be working closely with Product Owner, Area Architect and your team members clarifying business needs and technical requirements and defining how to support them in the best way. In close collaboration with other teams, your team will introduce new features and improvements to the mobile apps to provide an even better experience for more than 11 million of our customersAs our Senior Backend Software Engineer:with your Team and Product Owner, you will be working in a challenging Agile environment in close collaboration with other teams.you will participate in team’s technical/architectural discussions and decisions.you will develop and continuously deliver applications for one of the most successful pet e-commerce platforms in Europe.you will participate in the complete software development life cycle from discovery through coding, testing, deployment and maintenance.on daily basis you will learn and grow your skills, striving for mastery using state-of-the-art technologies and practices such as AWS, Microservices, Docker and much more.
At the
Mobile Apps , our primary responsibility are the iOS and Android apps, including the services that power them. This includes all aspects of the customer journey, from onboarding, personalized home feed, wish list, search and catalog to cart and checkout. As a rapidly growing channel, the Mobile Apps play a crucial role in the company success.
MUST HAVE Qualifications5+ years of experience with
Python
developmentStrong expertise in
Flask
or
DjangoExperience with
DevOps tools
and practices (container orchestration, CI, monitoring and alerting, Terraform)You understand the full architectural landscape and are technically able to investigate and implement new features independently.Being responsible for the quality of the solution you deliver is natural for you.You have experience with unit-testingInterested in growing as a software engineer participating in the whole development cycle (frontend, backend, testing, DevOps)Experience working within Agile practices and knowledge of Agile values & principlesYou are able mentor less experience colleagues, structure and clarify requirements togetherEmpathetic and able to easily build relationshipsGood verbal and written communication skills
Nice to haveExperience with Java and Spring frameworkExperience working with MicroservicesCloud expertise (AWS, Lambda, RDS, SNS, SQS)Experience with TDD approachExperience in e-commerce domain
Your responsibilitiesParticipate in solution investigation, estimations, planning, alignment with other teamsDesign, implement, deliver and support backend solutions (restful webservices) using micro-services architectureWork in close collaboration with other teams to integrate their solutions in the mobile appsPromote and implement tests automation (mainly unit tests and integration tests with opportunity to contribute into e2e tests and performance tests)Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration, development, and deployment.Deploy applications on the cloud, using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and Terraform.Work closely with the team in an agile and collaborative environment. This will involve activities such as code reviews, pair programming, knowledge sharing, and incident coordination.Maintain existing applications and reduce technical debt
