Role : GCP Cloud Engineer

As part of a diverse team spread across multiple geographies, and in partnership with Google and selected third parties, you will be engaged in a variety of tasks. These range from developing automation and streamlining operational procedures, to building out cloud infrastructure with the latest public cloud services. We are in search of talented GCP Cloud Engineers to join us on our journey as we expand our service across North and South Europe.

You will be tasked with engineering and deploying cloud-based solutions in GCP using a wide range of technologies and elements of the DevOps toolset. This role provides the opportunity to leverage the full range of cloud services, working alongside a diverse community of talented individuals.

We are committed to your development and provide dedicated training of 40 hours for you to pursue your own self-development. We offer a range of educational platforms and encourage innovation through a culture of experimentation and knowledge sharing practices.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using native cloud tools for backup, patching, monitoring, and security compliance.

- Actively seek opportunities to improve cloud service offerings and maintain and support the cloud services platform.

- Monitor and maintain multiple cloud solutions to meet project requirements.

- Respond to incidents and service health issues in line with service level agreements.

- Participate in a Cloud Engineering team utilising Agile methods such as Kanban for tracking work items.

- Promote cloud native solutions and patterns for Platform and Project improvement opportunities.

- Build and deploy infrastructure as code against solution designs in line with best practices.

- Utilise CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps and create pipelines for build and releases of infrastructure.

- Maintain documentation for standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.

- Participate in an on-call 24x7 rota.

Your professional experience :

Essential :

- Extensive experience of building and deploying solutions in GCP using infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager etc.

- Implementation of CI/CD pipelines (preferably using Azure DevOps).

- Proven scripting or programming experience for automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).

- Experience of monitoring and logging tools for cloud.

- Deep knowledge of Networking, troubleshooting and configuration.

- Deep knowledge of security best practices in cloud including identify and access management, network security, encryption and incident response

- Understanding of Agile principles e.g. Kanban and SCRUM.

- Operational experience of supporting Cloud environments.

- At least one cloud certification e,g. Associate Cloud Engineer

Desirable :

- Any cloud architect / developer certification (GCP).

- Proven experience of microservices and container-based systems (Docker, Kubernetes).

- ITIL experience.

- SCRUM/Agile certification.

- Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

- Experience with cloud cost optimization and governance.
