Essential Skills

the incumbent should have previous experience working in the financial inclusion space and preferably should be from a consulting background.

Description

The Senior Consultant – Gender will work to accelerate financial inclusion in Uttarakhand through financial linkages of community-based organizations and micro-entrepreneurs with formal financial institutions, capacity building of government-promotedinstitutions, and developing need-based financial products and innovative business models. The work will include:

Design training modules, conduct training needs assessments of women beneficiaries and staff members of SRLM/government institutions on gender-related aspects
Strengthen digital channels and introduce women-centric digital products and solutions based on the project requirements
Design new products and processes as per the needs of women beneficiaries and conduct Pilot testing of the designed products
Conduct business process re-engineering for the women-led community institutions or institutions promoting women entrepreneurs and advise the partner institutions towards digitization of operations from a gender perspective
Author/Co-author of thematic publications capturing innovative ideas /new trends, the future of the sector, etc.
Actively engage in marketing activities and participate in digital media dialogues linking MSC’s work and publications.
Conduct policy and other market research on gender and launch sectoral reports/ knowledge products.

Requirements

Qualifications and competencies:

Master’s degree or other relevant professional qualifications in line with the areas of specialization – preferably from top tier institute
Experience in working with financial service providers and/ or in the delivery of financial services to the excluded segments, especially women
Experience and ability to work closely with senior bureaucrats, government officials, multilateral/bilateral donor agencies
Experience in handling large technical projects
Demonstrated industry connections with a range of stakeholders, including policymakers
Excellent communication, networking, and report-writing skills
Good understanding of relevant regulatory policies that govern the financial sector.
