Navi's Engineering team builds the backbone of our financial products—spanning lending, payments, insurance, investments, and debt management. Our engineers focus on solving real-world challenges through scalable architecture, automation, and long-term thinking—ensuring every Navi product is built to serve millions efficiently and seamlessly.

About the Role

As an SDE 1 - UI, you will be responsible for building intuitive, performant, and scalable web experiences. You'll work on user-facing features that directly impact millions of users, contributing to Navi's mission of making financial services simple and accessible. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving real-world problems, care deeply about clean design and great UX, and are eager to grow in a fast-paced environment.

What We Expect From You

  • Develop, test , and maintain responsive web applications with clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions .
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize web applications for maximum speed, scalability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Participate in code reviews , contribute to best practices, and maintain code quality .
  • Continuously learn new technologies and frameworks to improve development efficiency.

Must Haves

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in web development , preferably in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent Computer Science fundamentals , functional programming , data structures and algorithms.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and converts larger fuzzy problems into actionable pieces.
  • Good understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 , and modern front-end frameworks like React.js (preferred) or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs , asynchronous programming, and state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API ).
  • Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility , web performance optimization , and responsive design principles.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
