Key Accountabilities:Increase NPD Revenue: Lead new product development (NPD) to boost revenue by aligning engineering efforts with market needs, optimizing production, and ensuring high-quality, timely product delivery in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.Increase EBIT: Improve profitability by reducing costs, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving cost-saving measures across production and quality processes, while making strategic investments in technology and automation to support long-term growth.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Oversight:Lead and manage the Engineering and Quality teams with a strong focus on collaboration and performance.Oversee capital purchases and establish production setups from scratch to mass production for all New Product Developments (NPD).Foundry and Manufacturing Expertise:Utilize deep knowledge in foundry processes including mold design, casting manufacturing, machining, and assembly.Drive design initiatives with thorough expertise in DFMEA, DFM, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, and process capabilities.Customer and Product Development:Serve as the technical front-end in customer interactions, providing support for product development, technical discussions, and addressing all quality requirements.Build and maintain strong customer relationships and collaborate closely with marketing to align technical developments with business objectives.Quality and Continuous Improvement:Take ownership of internal and customer quality, working to reduce rejections and improve PPM levels.Lead efforts in standardizing packing and ensuring total ownership of product quality.Collaborate with the manufacturing team on OEE, cycle time, and yield improvement projects.Operational Excellence:Spearhead plant layout improvements, material handling, safety initiatives, and 5S implementation.Introduce low-cost automation and special-purpose machines to enhance productivity.Develop and maintain estimation standards, from RFQ through to mass production.Financial Performance:Work towards continuous improvement in EBITA by optimizing productivity, reducing tool costs, and driving cost-efficiency in operations.Your Key Performance IndicatorsProduct Quality Metrics: Reduction in internal and customer rejections (PPM levels, defect rate).New Product Development (NPD) Success: Timeliness and efficiency in taking NPD projects from concept to mass production.Operational Efficiency: Improvement in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle time, and yield.Cost Optimization: Reduction in tool costs, scrap rates, and overall production costs.Customer Satisfaction: Meeting or exceeding customer expectations in terms of quality, delivery timelines, and technical support.What you bring to the tableThe candidate for the Engineering and Quality Head role is expected to bring:Extensive Foundry and Metallurgical Expertise: Deep knowledge in foundry operations, mold design, casting manufacturing processes, and metallurgical principles, with additional forging experience as a plus.Leadership in Engineering and Quality: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in engineering and quality departments, driving continuous improvements and ensuring high product standards.Operational Excellence: Strong track record in optimizing production processes, reducing rejections, improving OEE, and leading cost-saving initiatives across NPD and mass production.Customer-Centric Approach: Expertise in customer interaction, building strong relationships, and aligning technical solutions with business objectives to drive product development and customer satisfaction.You will be successful here if you are / haveStrong leadership and team Management skills with an ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.Excellent decision-making skills, particularly in capital projects and product development.Hands-on experience in both foundry and machining operations, with a deep understanding of quality assurance practices.Exceptional customer relationship management and technical communication abilities.Excited about the prospect of bringing new INNOVATIVE ideas.Understand process driven culture and growth mindset.
