Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Airframe Engineer - Structures to join our team. As an integral member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design and development of airframe structures for our EVTOL aircraft. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, certification, and production of cutting-edge aerospace technology.
Responsibilities:
Generate and develop CAD models and drawings related to composite and metal structures, flight control systems, using Siemens NX.
Analyse CAE models of structural components or systems for our and present the results to other relevant engineers.
Troubleshoot installation and quality issues and implement corrective design changes as necessary.
Produce preliminary cost and weight estimates, along with preliminary structural analysis.
Present technical analysis summary/reports efficiently at meetings and to other relevant engineers.
Lead mock-up development, participate in design reviews, and prepare design documentation.
Work collaboratively in a team environment within the Structures team and cross-functionally with other disciplines to efficiently design and release structures that are optimized for mass, efficient production and assembly.
Coordinate with supply chain, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful integration and production of airframe structures.
Work cross-functionally to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and support prototype and production build activities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.Tech) or Master's degree (M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
3-5 years of design experience in aerospace or related industry.
Proficiency in CAD software, with experience in Siemens NX.
Proficiency in CAE software, with experience in ANSYS.
Solid understanding of linear/nonlinear behaviors of advanced materials (composites, adhesives, metals) to achieve lightweight structural solutions.
Experience with PLM software, with knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter.
Solid interpersonal skills, motivated self-starter who can manage personal workload and execution to tight schedule.
Desired Qualification:
Design experience with composites and/or molded panels is a plus.
Experience interfacing with engineering, testing, and manufacturing groups to understand system designs and the associated constraints.
Knowledge of overall vehicle systems/sub-systems and requirements.
Experience supporting analysis and completing documentation for airworthiness certifications.
Experience supporting structural design and analysis throughout the design, build, and test phases of a development cycle.
Experience with fast iteration prototyping programs.
Experience managing system configurations and managing changes to size, weight, and cost constraints.
