As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase for Corporate & Investment Banking - Commerce Platform within the Merchant Services Technology, you will play an important role in the development and maintenance of enterprise Pricing and Funding platforms in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques utilizing programming skills and contribute to the technical code base including any required documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and, provide input to information/data flow and understand and comply with Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps.
• Document detailed application specifications; translate technical requirements into programmed application modules; and, develop and enhance software application modules.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications.
• Utilize various technologies such as AWS, Java, J2EE, JMS, object-oriented analysis and design techniques, Spring Framework, Oracle, MySQL, JDBC and PL/SQL.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile,
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Practical cloud native experience
• Strong in AWS, Java\J2EE, Micro services, Spring boot, Database, PL\SQL, Performance tuning
• A passion for keeping up-to-date with the latest cloud trends and technologies
