Assistant Manager-Banking Operations

Location: Hyderabad (May have to travel frequent across India regarding work)Experience : 2 & 2+ yrsDepartment: Finance & Banking PartnershipsAbout the RoleWe are an emerging startup seeking a proactive banking professional with strong expertise in corporate accounts, ESCROW account management and payment gateways. This role will be central to setting up, managing, and optimizing ESCROW banking structures and payment gateways to ensure smooth financial operations for the company.The ideal candidate should have prior experience in corporate banking at a leading institution, a deep understanding of banking documentation and workflows, and the ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders — banks, payment partners, legal teams, and internal finance teams.Key Responsibilities1. ESCROW Account Setup & ManagementLead the end-to-end process of opening ESCROW accounts with multiple banking partners for the company and its partner organizations.Coordinate with banks, legal, and compliance teams for documentation, KYC, and account structuring.Ensure all ESCROW arrangements are compliant with RBI and company requirements.2. Payment Gateway Setup, Integration & ManagementCoordinate with payment gateway service providers and banks to set up, test, and activate gateways for collections and payouts.Work with the tech and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payment APIs into internal systems.Resolve operational issues related to settlements, chargebacks, and payment discrepancies.3. Banking Coordination & Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong working relationships with relationship managers from top banks (ICICI, HDFC, Axis, SBI, Kotak, etc.).Drive banking enhancements for smoother fund movements, faster settlements, and improved transaction transparency.Evaluate and onboard new banking partners or payment solution providers based on company needs.4. Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure adherence to RBI, FEMA, and internal company policies for all Treasury and Banking operations.Maintain accurate documentation, audit trails, and MIS reports for all banking setups.Support internal and external audits, providing necessary financial and operational data.5. Travel & Cross-Functional CollaborationTravel across India for meetings with banks, payment partners, and affiliated organizations.Collaborate with finance, legal, and technology teams to execute projects efficiently and resolve any operational bottlenecks.Required Skills & CompetenciesProven experience in corporate bankingExperience in ESCROW (Preferably).Eperience of 2–3 years in top-tier banks (ICICI, HDFC, Axis, Kotak, SBI) handling corporate clients.Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.Ability to manage multiple banking relationships and projects simultaneously.Willingness to travel frequently for operational and business requirements.Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced startup environment.Languages: English, Hindi and Telugu (preferably)What We OfferOpportunity to work directly with leadership and major banking partners.Hands-on involvement in ESCROW and payment infrastructure critical to business operations.Exposure to fintech integrations and digital banking systems.Competitive salary, travel reimbursements, and performance-based rewards.A fast-paced, innovative startup culture focused on impact and growth.
