Job Purpose


The purpose of this role is to identify the data patterns, trends, and using techniques in transforming data that powers data-driven decision making and improving customer experience in line with Muthoot Fincorp & Muthoot Pappachan Group's strategic objectives. The role incumbent will be to design, develop and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines to improve operational efficiency in collaboration with key stakeholders and cross functional teams.

Tamil Nadu - Chennai - Secured and Unsecured Lending Business - Head Office.


Key Job Responsibilities


  • Collect, clean, and pre-process data from various sources.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
  • Use techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and natural language processing (NLP) as appropriate/guided.
  • Optimise models for performance, scalability, and interpretability.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to summarize findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor models periodically and refine models based on feedback and performance metrics.
  • Align data projects with organizational goals ensuring integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of data used in building of models.
  • Work closely with business, IT, and database teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.


Technical and Soft Skills:


  • Good knowledge of database and data massaging methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


Knowledge and Qualification:


  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in building/monitoring analytical models / scorecards.
  • Experience with advanced analytics or machine learning techniques.
  • Familiarity on project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for data modelling, interpretation, and segmentation.
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with advanced analytics or machine learning techniques.
  • Experience in Banking/NBFC/Fintech will be a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications will be a plus.
