Role summary

We're hiring a hands-on Market Research Analyst to deliver both desk and primary field research to validate and shape a local business-setup idea. You will combine online secondary scans (websites, Google Maps, public datasets) with in-person fieldwork in a designated Gurgaon location to produce a detailed market report, value-chain interviews, mapped insights, and actionable recommendations.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct rapid secondary research: scan websites, government portals, business listings, social pages and extract relevant market & competitor data.
  • Use Google Maps and similar tools to map businesses, footfall proxies, transport links, and service nodes in the target area.
  • Plan and carry out fieldwork in a specified Gurgaon locality: walk the zone, map economic activities, photograph sites, log GPS coordinates, and assess foot traffic and operating hours.
  • Cross-check neighbouring market areas and identify linkages, overlapping services, and competitive threats/opportunities.
  • Conduct 8–15 short semi-structured interviews with shopkeepers, suppliers, transporters or customers to map value chains, supply sources, margins, and backend constraints.
  • Record notes, short audio (with consent), and take photographs to support evidence.
  • Synthesize findings into a clear, well-referenced report with maps, a spreadsheet of mapped points, interview summaries, opportunity/risk analysis and practical recommendations for business setup.
  • Present findings (remote or in-person) and be available for follow-up clarification/questions.

Expected pay ~ Rs Per Hour, depends on length of task
